Budapest

Over reading week, I was lucky enough to take a trip to Budapest, Hungary. I stayed for three days and was accompanied by four other friends. Upon arriving at our airbnb, we were spooked. The building was old and run down with boards covering windows and dark hallways leading to stairs. This turned into quite the joke throughout the trip and ended up enjoying it because of the memories we will have from the first reaction. Other than that shock, everything else was beautiful. We mainly walked around and explored the streets and appreciated the architecture.

One of the nights we attended a thermal bath. The spas were both inside and outside so we got our moneys worth and visited each one. They were filled with people relaxing, playing, and swimming trying to escape the cold air around them. This was an amazing experience that brought the whole trip together.

The food was phenomenal. I am a very picky eater so of course I was nervous to try their signature dish, goulash, but it ended up being one of my favorite meals I had while there. The streets of Budapest were quiet and eery at night with not much going on. I appreciated the quiet and the chance to take in everything around me. Buda was filled with castles and beautiful buildings and history, while Pest was filled with hip places to shop and eat. Pest also had Parliament buildings and beautiful cathedrals. In my opinion I might like Pest more because you get an amazing view of Buda across the river along with so much to do.

This was an amazing trip and one that I will forever be thankful for being able to go on. Budapest, I love you.
