On Friday night, a group of friends and I went to The Winter Wonderland festival in Hyde Park. It was magnificent. It was filled with people and there were so many sounds and smells surrounding me. It reminded me of the Houston Rodeo we have back in Texas. A little bit of home.
You could hear screams coming from every ride and laughter filled the air. I did see someone who was crying, which made me wonder what had happened and why she was sad at such a lively event. Other than that, I just witnessed drinking and smiles all around. The whole environment was built on the happiest time of the year. My friends and I rode three rides and had an adrenaline rush with all of them. I am a big fan of roller coasters so I appreciated the feeling. We also got some drinks and danced around to a live band for about an hour. It was an immaculate feeling.
It was cold and the air was brisk, but running around to try German food and drinking mulled wine kept the feeling at a minimum. There was nothing to worry about except which ride we were heading to next and that is what made me happy. It was an amazing night and I will remember it for years to come.
